The Holy Ghost Explained

There are always questions that people have in their hearts. It was just recently I noticed a book laying around. I looked on the front of it. It was laying around and it said, "Questions and Answers". People who have questions like to get answers. We like to try to deal with it as much as we can (as to questions and answers). So tonight we're going to do that all over again, and give you a chance to ask some questions. If you'd like to ask some questions.

You know, preachers deal with human spirits and with human minds. And of course we're always doing that. Always dealing with human minds. That's why that a man should be very careful. When he says he's a minister he should know what he's speaking of. He is dealing with the human mind and if he carelessly does something wrong he can wreck a human life.

Ministers are not out to brainwash people. As a matter of fact, people don't have dirty brains. God made their brain in good order and He's kept it in good order. They have dirty minds, dirty spirits. So, we're not out to brainwash people, but we are out to do one thing. And that is to wash the infiltration, or the contamination out of your system, out of your spirit. And to spirit wash you by the washing of the water of regeneration.

We want to wash your spirit, because you are born into this world as a sinner. And you are born with the infiltration within your body, within your mind. And you are filthy in the sight of God to the extent that you have to be swallowed by the Word of God. You have to be washed. You have to be cleansed. And we are out to cleanse you, to wash you. Because if you are not a christian you are dirty and filthy on the inside.

You are filled with corruption and deceit. And the Bible said the heart is desperately wicked, who can know it. Do thy diligence to keep thine heart for out of it comes forth the issues of life. And even when you become a Christian. And God goes into your heart to wash and to cleanse your heart. You are still in the world as to your body. And Satan being the prince of this world is continually oppressing your mind and attacking your body. (Your human senses to gender thoughts in your thinking.) As to your thinking capacity he is suppressing you to bring about thoughts that are degraded thoughts. That are unclean thoughts, that are blasphemous thoughts. And he's always pressing you to gender these thought in your thinking. To cause you to be unclean in the sight of God. But because God has washed your spirit, sealed your spirit inwardly with the Holy Spirit. Then never at anytime in your Christian life does satan touch you.

The Bible said, He that is born of God cannot sin. For God's seed remaineth in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God. And the Bible said the evil one toucheth him not because he keepeth himself. By the seal of God. By the seal of the great loving Holy Spirit. He keepeth himself and the devil never at any time spots him, or causes a blemish in his life.

He is complete in Christ. So then, we have this wonderful seal of the great Spirit over our Spirit. Or as I've tried to express it through an allegoric means as to give an example or an illustration. It's like this, that they put into a fabric. It's a certain chemical thing that has a chemical reaction, and it's called safeguard. You put it into a fabric and it becomes interwoven with the fabric. And because it is interwoven with the fabric then that means that stains cannot penetrate to stain the fabric.

So we have Christ's Spirit as the interwoven goodness and godliness of His cleanliness in our spirit. And our spirit is interwoven with the safeguard. And because of that never in our entire life time, as to our Christian experience, never one time does satan ever touch our spirit. He can aggravate our natural mind as to our human senses because our body is alive in the natural. But to God our body is not alive, it is dead, it is buried in a watery grave in the lovely name of his His darling Son Jesus Christ. The only name given under heaven that hath remission of sin in it. And so then, in that the minister has the power to remit sin. And the name hath remission of sin in it. And water is for the remission, then put those three things together, and God. As he said to Paul, Go down to the street called straight, God through the ministry washes away the sins. Paul, be baptized calling on the name of the Lord. And wash away your sins for it shall come to pass that whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

So then, being buried in a watery grave with the Lord Jesus. As into His death in that He is the one that died for us, being buried with Him in death. We are raised again as to the resurrection in Christ. He having been delivered for our offenses to Calvary. And then delivered again from the grave for our justification. As proof we are clean and Holy before God. So then, in this God never sees our body again. We consider ourselves to be dead indeed by the body of the lord Jesus. And alive by the resurrection of the new form. In that the Bible said He hath appeared in another form in His resurrection. We are then appearing in another form as the glorious Christ who is a quickening spirit. And God never again knows us after the flesh. And He tells us not to know one another after the weaknesses as to the stumbling and staggerings of the flesh, to accuse one another. But to know them as to the grace of God. Making allowance, praying and helping them. That they may be established in the Faith. And it says that we have known Jesus after the flesh, but we don't know Him anymore after the flesh. He is dead now to the flesh. In that He was made sin that's gone forever. We know Him now as a quickening spirit as to the resurrection and the life, even Almighty God. All right. So we see all of this and it makes us thankful. It makes us to realize the great mighty benefits of God. The love of God. The protection of God. The way that He has kept us. You love the Lord? Somebody say, I love you, Jesus. Praise the Lord.

All right. Over in the islands they always take off their shoes as a rule. I slipped mine off tonight. You didn't know that, did you? But I decided I would tonight. For some reason I felt to do that so I'm going to do it. One reason is it makes my feet feel a whole lot better, but tonight I just feel to do that. God said to Moses one time said take the shoes off of your feet. The place wherein thou standest it's Holy.

And sometimes God is moving by His Spirit, and great and mighty things are taking place. You know, it's sad to see someone that tells you that God mightily moved in their life at one time, but isn't moving anymore. But I see that. Wherever I go great, mighty warriors are falling, great mighty preachers are falling. Great and mighty men are fallin everywhere.

We used to sing that song, "Hold the Fort for I am Coming". And it speaks of the great men falling. But if we hold on to the lord, His grace is sufficent for us. I'm going to read this little portion of Scripture, and then I'm going to give you a chance to ask questions. And if you ask a question as to whatever is on your heart we'll try to comment on it.

Maybe we can answer more than one question. Sometimes we get stretched out on one, and we can't seem to get passed that one. Because we have to thoroughly answer it, in that this goes on tape and it goes all over the world. I think maybe Brother Taylor mentioned tonight that they are picking up our message over the radio in the Bahamas. They are picking it up in a mighty way over in Jamaica. Lot of mail is coming out of Jamaica. We've had them to pick it up in almost all of the islands and respond. It's been so wonderful, because we've been blessed as to some saying that they got our program in Africa, some in London, some in the different parts of the world. Almost all over the United States everywhere and there's hardly an island that we haven't heard from. God has really blessed us.

In Ecclesiastes, if you've got your Bibles. Let's read in chapter eleven.

[Ecclesiastes 11:1-10: "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

"Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity."]

[Ecclesiastes 12:1-14: "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened, And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low; Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets: Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

"Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity. And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."]

All right. I just felt like reading that to you. I stood here and spoke to you about remembering your creator in the days of thy youth. And I didn't know that that was what we were going to read like always. I never know what I'm going to read until I get up here.

Okay. It says please explain the difference between the gift of the Holy Ghost and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, or the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Or that is it seems to bring out several things here as to what it is. There is a difference.

Someone would say, well, I don't see any difference. Well, if you don't I understand but there is a difference. For instance we'll read something here. A difference. There is a difference. Just let me explain it here. We'll explain it and then if you want to we can go to the Scriptures for it. There is a difference. What is the difference?

All right. When you come to God you must be filled with the Spirit of God. You must be filled with the Spirit of God. You must be baptized with the Holy Ghost. You must have the infilling of the Spirit as to the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And if you don't have the baptism of the Holy Ghost, then you don't have His Spirit, and if you don't have His Spirit, then you're none of His. As a little child when it's born into the world. Though it has been born in that it came through the usual channels as to a birth, but if it doesn't have spirit it doesn't have life. It is a still birth. So then, there is a difference. What is the difference? The difference is being filled with the Spirit or having the gift of the Spirit.

Now when we look at it we have to find Scripture for those things. Like I told a man today. If I just say those things you may have enough confidence in me to take my word for it. But that doesn't get you into heaven. You are saved by faith. I remind you again that faith is not just believing. If you believe that's one God you do well. The devils believe and tremble. So just mere believing will not take you to heaven. Joining a church and saying I believe. Joining yourself with the believers as a believer, that don't take you to heaven. See? You're not saved just by believing.

The Bible said you're saved by faith. And there is a world of difference in just believing and faith. I say this over and over to you so you can keep it in your mind.

The writer said, though I know you know these things yet; I stir up your mind toward these things that you might remember them. See? So when you speak of believing you may believe you're on your way to heaven when you're on your way to hell. You may believe because someone prayed for you that you are healed of cancer, when you are dying of the disease. So you can believe, but you can believe a lie and be damned. So believing, that is not the answer, because you may be believing a lie.

Then what is the answer? Isn't believing the right way? Believing is the right way. But the right kind of believing is the right way. Then what is the difference in believing as to believing the wrong way and believing the right way. To believe a lie is to be damned, or to believe the wrong way. But to believe the truth, when you're believe the truth then you're believing the right way. And of course, when you believe the truth then it brings salvation. So you are believing the truth. So I say I'm believing. I say, well, what am I believing? Am I believing as to damnation in that I believe a lie, or am I believing the truth. Now if I believe a lie I'm just listening to damnable heresays. I am observing lying vanities. For all is vanity. And all I see is vanity, and the Bible says that if I observe lying vanities then I forsake my own mercy. Because the vanities are contrary to the Word of God. So then, I must believe what the Word of God says. That is true, for the Bible said, My Words are spirit and they are truth.

So then, I must believe the truth. When I believe the truth then I am not believing lying vanities. But I'm believing the truth. I'm believing the Word of God. So then in believing the truth that is what faith is. That is what faith is called. When you differentiate between believing the truth and believing a lie and being damned then you are coming to faith. Because faith is believing the truth. Faith is believing the Word of God.

Faith cometh by the hearing of the Word of God as to the promises of God. As to your conformities of life. As to His desires as to what God has told you in His Word as to your conformities of life. As to his desires as to what you are to be in His Word as to your conformities of life. As to His desires as to what you are to be in Him.

So then, we hear the Word and the Bible said and the Preacher preaches the Word. And we hear the word. We believe the Word. And then God sends the Spirit of the Word to seal your innermost being because the spirit of the word is Christ's Spirit. The Holy Ghost. So then the Holy Ghost. No other Ghost is Holy. Your ghost is not holy. My ghost is not holy. When you say ghost you are speaking of a person's spirit. As Ghost is a personification of a spirit. God was a spirit without personification until He personified Himself in the body of the Lord Jesus Christ, and then He became the ghost. As to the King James rendering it is the ghost. And then in the ghost it is a Holy Ghost. The only Holy Spirit. The only Holy angelic being.

Like it was said when Peter came out to the gate. Rhoda ran out. He'd just gotten out of prison, and someone said it's Peter. They said, No. It must be his ghost. It must be his angel, or his spirit.

So then, they are holy. There are holy angels. There are ugly evil angels, fallen angels that are demon spirits. And then there is the Holy Ghost. The only true Holy Spirit as to a human personification. Never has been but one, that is Christ's lovely Spirit. And God said you can speak against anything that you want to speak against. Even speak against the body of Jesus. But one word spoken against the Spirit of Christ as to the angel, as to the Holy Ghost. I'll not forgive it, He said in this world nor the world to come.

So there is a difference in receiving the wonderful Holy Ghost, or just being filled with the Spirit.

See? If I am baptized with the Holy Ghost then I have received the gift of the Holy Ghost. What is the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is the gift of the Spirit of Christ, which is eternal life. Because there is no other spirit that has eternal life except the spirit of Christ. The Bible said, And the promise that was given to Abraham was as unto one. Not as unto many. But in Issac shall the seed be called which was pointing to Jesus, the promised son. So then, the Bible said He alone He is heir to the glory of God. And it is He alone. As His spirit the angelic Christ in your heart it is He alone that is your hope of glory. In that He is heir alone to the glory of God, then He is the only hope of you having that glory that He appeared in when He appeared on the mount in glory with Moses and Elijah.

So then, He is heir to the glory. So then, when we are baptized with the Holy Ghost what are we baptized with? It is the Spirit of Christ. The Spirit of Christ. If you'll notice the gift of the Holy Ghost was not given until after Calvary. The reason is becasue the Bible says the Holy Ghost had not yet been given when it speaks before Calvary. It had not yet been given because Jesus had never died for the remission of sin, therefore, remission being in His name the Spirit could not return. Because He witnessed that when He the Holy Ghost, the spirit of truth when He returns or when He comes back He will testify of me even as my spirit
