My Shepherd

1. Life’s pathway is rocky,

Its mountains are steep,

But I’ll never falter,

At the good shepherd’s feet,

When the night’s dark and stormy,

There’s shelter for me.

When life’s storms are raging.

I’ll lie down at His feet.

2. Way down in the valley,

The rivers are deep.

But Jesus is watching,

He’s never asleep.

His staff is my comfort,

His promise He’ll keep,

There’s peace in the valley,

When I lie down to sleep.

3. Sometimes I may wander,

Too far from the fold.

Sometimes when it’s dreary,

I get hungry and cold.

But there’s one thing for certain,

I won’t lose my way.

I’ll see the good shepherd coming,

At the close of the day.

Chorus:

For the Lord is my shepherd,

And I shall not want.

For He will lead me, all of the way,

I’ll lie down in green pastures,

By still waters I’ll walk,

For the Lord is my shepherd,

And I shall not want.
