1. Kings, queens and presidents,

But that won’t get the job done.

Whatcha got to do, friend, is repent,

If you want to get the job done.

2. You can shout, sing and speak in tongues,

But that’ll never get the job done.

You’ve got to right the wrongs, friend, that you’ve done,

And that’ll get the job done.

3. Money, fame and education,

But that won’t get the job done.

Quit that life of aggravation,

If you want to get the job done.

4. You can be in the resurrection,

If you’ll get the job done,

But you’ve got to change your vile affection,

If you want to get the job done.

5. You’ve got to go back to Calvary,

If you want to get the job done,

For there He died for you and me,

That’s where you’ll get the job done.

6. You may have a lot of friends,

But that won’t get the job done.

You’ve got to stop your living in sin,

If you want to get the job done.

7. Hurry and wait, or wear a smirk,

But that won’t get the job done.

What we need is a mind to work,

And that will get the job done.

8. Well, friend, now that you’ve heard life’s story,

We can get the job done.

You’ve got to give God all the praise and glory,

If you want to get the job done.

Chorus:

You got to get up from where you’re at,

And get on to where you’re going,

Change your wicked ways,

And the seeds that you’ve been sowing,

If you want to get the job done,

If you want to get the job done,

If you want to get the job done.
