A Little Bit Further

1. Oh, I know I’m a little bit older,

Little bit farther on down the trail,

And I’m spending more time on my knees, friend, as I go,

For I’m praying a little longer,

For I know that over there,

There’s a place that’s waiting for the ones that go.

2. So I’m moving on t’ward heaven,

Praying as I go,

And I’m asking Him to please hold my hand,

For I’m down the trail a little bit farther,

A little bit nearer home,

I can look up ahead and there’s not far to go.

Chorus:

I’m a little farther on my journey,

A little farther down the trail,

I’m nearer home than I was yesterday,

I can see the home fires burning,

The lights of that city,

I’m nearer home than I was the day before.
