Coming Back Home

1. So many dear loved ones have drifted away,

They are lost out in the night,

Others stayed home just to watch and pray,

And they have won out in the fight.

2. Prayer has been answered, the good Lord has called,

And the children are coming back home,

So, don’t grow discouraged, just keep holding on,

For all of the children are coming back home.

3. Amid the sorrows the parents have had,

In the midst of the terrors of night,

We should rejoice and we should be glad,

For God makes everything right.

4. There’s hearts that are broken and tears fill their eyes,

Their worries have been for so long,

God’s not forgotten, but to your surprise,

One day, they’re coming back home.

5. That great day is coming, friend, it is at hand,

The children are coming back home,

That homecoming morning, so let us be glad,

For the children are coming back home.

Chorus:

They’re coming back home,

They’re coming back home,

Those who have wandered away,

They’ve been gone so long,

But are coming back home,

At last God’s children are coming back home.
